The statement cited the statute of limitations as the reason criminal charges couldn’t be pursued against the hip-hop artist.

While acknowledging the disturbing nature of the video, the DA’s Office stated that due to the incident occurring in 2016, it fell outside the timeframe for prosecuting an assault crime. Law enforcement has not initiated a case related to the depicted attack but urged any victims or witnesses to report crimes to authorities or seek support from their Bureau of Victims Services.

The statement from the DA’s Office follows the release of a shocking video by CNN, which aligns with Cassie’s previous claims of abuse by Diddy. The footage shows Diddy physically confronting Cassie as she attempts to leave a hotel, matching the allegations made in her lawsuit against him in November 2023.

Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, shared a message condemning violence against women and calling for accountability among men to protect and respect women in their lives.
